Precinct polling places history

Vote centers designated for 2006 elections

Broomfield has designated sites for its vote centers for the 2006 elections, Russ Ragsdale, Broomfield Clerk and Recorder, announced this week.

Ragsdale’s office has selected seven sites for use as vote centers this year. The seven sites will make voting more convenient for Broomfield voters because any registered voter in Broomfield will be able to cast a ballot at any of the vote centers.

Vote centers take the place of precinct polling places, and will be in the following locations:

  1. Broomfield Senior Center
    280 Lamar Street
  1. The Chateaux at Fox Meadows
    13600 Xavier Lane
  2. Church of the Holy Comforter
    1700 West 10th Avenue
  3. Cross of Christ Lutheran Church
    12099 Lowell Boulevard
  4. Flatiron Crossing - Community Room
One West Flatiron Circle, Suite 1083
  5. Front Range Mobile Home - Club House
    2885 East Midway Boulevard
  1. Risen Savior Lutheran Church
    3031 West 144th Avenue

Originally, six sites were proposed, but after additional site visits, Ragsdale said the original plans were “overly optimistic as far as space goes.” He said by redeploying staff and equipment, a seventh site could be added for very little additional cost (approximately $500 for telecommunications hook-up and ballot tabulator rental).  The seventh site will add even more convenience for Broomfield voters by providing an additional choice, Ragsdale said.

Notices will be mailed by the end of June to Broomfield voters containing the list of vote center locations.  The notices will also include an application for an absentee ballot if the voter chooses to vote by mail.

This year’s elections include the primary election on August 8, and the general election on November 7.
