Broomfield Wellness Fair
will teach families
about taking care of health
Broomfield’s Health and Human Services
Department (HHS) and the Broomfield area Chamber of Commerce are partnering in
the First Annual Broomfield Community Wellness Fair on Saturday, March 11 from 8
a.m. to noon at the Paul Derda Recreation Center, 13201 Lowell Boulevard.
The event is designed to foster an environment of health education for
Broomfield residents. Over 60 area businesses and health care professionals will
be on hand to teach attendees about taking care of their health. Presenting
sponsor of the fair is Exempla Good Samaritan Hospital.
The first 500 people will receive a free t-shirt and water bottle. Door prizes,
activities and promotional items will also be available.
Staff from the city’s Public Health Division will provide information about
Broomfield’s Travel Clinic, new recommendations for immunizations for school age
children and information about Avian flu, stop-smoking programs and the Thriving
Communities initiative.
Other sponsors include supporting sponsor Western Ambulance, and sustaining
sponsors Front Range Community College and Pulte Home Corporation. Patron
sponsors are Capabilities, Colorado Physical Therapy Institute, Community
Financial Credit Union and Family Hearing Center.
