Linda Reynolds named to
national
steering committee
Broomfield City Councilmember
Linda Reynolds
has been named to the National Association of Counties (NACo) Human Services
and Education Steering Committee.
In
announcing the appointment, Bill Hansell, NACo president, said, “A great deal
of Naco’s strength is in its committees, and that strength is reflected in the
commitment and active participation revealed throughout our committee
structure.” Hansell said NACo committees “further NACo’s goals which, in
turn, will benefit America’s counties.
Reynolds also is active with Colorado Counties Inc. (CCI), the state
organization that is dedicated to county issues. CCI has some of the same
concerns as NACo and as an organization CCI meets with Senators and
Congressional representatives on an individual basis to discuss issues such as
immigration, prescription drug plans, residential treatment centers, sale of
public lands, and the workforce investment act for inclusion of retraining
programs.
Reynolds recently returned from the NACo 2006 Legislative Conference in
Washington, D. C. More than 2,000 county officials from around the country
attended the conference to strengthen the voice of county government on
Capitol Hill.
