Broomfield Senior
Services Art Cart wins recognition
Broomfield Senior Services received the 2006 Outstanding New
Service Award for the Broomfield Senior Art Cart at
the annual Colorado Association of Senior Centers (CASC)
conference last Friday at the Buck Recreation Center in
Littleton.
Suzanne Bazinet, senior services supervisor, worked with
volunteers to make this new cultural service in Broomfield a
reality. Funded by Senior Resources of Broomfield, Inc. (SRB),
and built by the senior woodshop volunteers, the Art Cart
has helped over 24 local senior artists display and sell
their handcrafted works of art.
The CASC, a division of the Colorado Parks and Recreation
Association, presents awards annually to recognize
organizations, individuals, and volunteers who help older
adults live a longer, better quality life.
Last year, Senior Services won the group’s Outstanding
Program Award for the Freedom to Ride senior transportation
educational program.
