Free immunization clinic

A free immunization clinic is scheduled on Friday, Aug. 18, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Emerald Elementary School, 755 W. Elmhurst Place in Broomfield for children up to age 18.

Any Broomfield resident 18 years or younger is eligible to receive the free immunizations. Parents should bring all immunization records.  Public Health Nurses will be available to check the immunization record and provide the required vaccinations.

Children entering Kindergarten are required to have Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis, Polio, Measles, Mumps and Rubella and Varicella booster shots; children 11-12 years of age should receive booster shots for Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis and Varicalla.

Last year Colorado saw outbreaks of the mumps, pertussis and meningitis in school children and college-age students.  This is an opportunity to prevent these serious diseases from occurring again this year.  For further information, contact HHS at 720-887-2220.

Colorado accepts exemptions from the required vaccinations for medical, religious and personal reasons.
