HHS plans free flu
shot clinics to test preparedness
Broomfield’s Health
and Human Services Department (HHS) has scheduled
two flu shot clinics to test the city’s ability to
administer mass quantities of vaccines for emergency
preparedness.
The clinics are
scheduled Sunday, Oct. 29, from
8 a.m.
until 2 p.m., or until all vaccine is administered.
This year, vaccines
will be offered at two sites. A drive-through site
will be located at the Broomfield
County
Commons Park,
west of the Paul
Derda
Recreation
Center,
13201 Lowell
Blvd. A walk through site will be at the Broomfield
Community
Center, 280
Lamar St.
The walk-through
site at the Community Center will be for families
with children under 12, and women who are pregnant
or breastfeeding.
Those who
participate are asked to wear a short sleeved shirt
or blouse under sweaters or coats. The department
will be administering injectable vaccines only – no
nasal mist will be available at either site.
