Request for residents’ traffic concerns sets December 1 deadline for input

To respond to community concerns about traffic within and through the city, Broomfield staff is conducting an evaluation of traffic flow on all major roadways. Residents are being requested to offer their opinions on traffic flow by Friday, Dec. 1.

The study will evaluate ways to keep vehicular traffic moving efficiently while making safe provisions for people walking and bicycling.

As part of the study, Broomfield staff will be evaluating:

  • Speed limits on existing roadways;
  • Stop sign locations;
  • The timing of traffic signals to improve the flow of traffic; and
  • Potential operational improvements such as right and left lanes, removal of sight restriction and traffic hazards, and alternatives to traffic signals including roundabouts.

The public’s input is needed, and residents are asked to help identify traffic issues that may be a safety concern or cause congestion.

Comments may be sent by email to tschomer@ci.broomfield.co.us  or info@ci.broomfield.co.us or by letter to the Community Development Department at   One DesCombes Drive, Broomfield, CO  80020.

Those who wish may telephone 303-438-6380 to provide comments, or call for an appointment to give comments in person. To make an appointment, call 303-438-6380.

All comments should be received by Friday, Dec. 1, 2006.

These comments will help  identify problems and opportunities to make it easier for everyone to get around in Broomfield.  Public meetings for this project will be held in January. Specific dates will be announced later.
