City seeks volunteers for annual Broomstock event

Broomfield is seeking volunteers to help with the annual Broomstock event on June 7.

School adjourns for the summer on the morning of June 7, and Broomstock has been designed as a positive program planned for teens to enjoy the end of their school year in a safe and healthy environment.  The annual drug- and alcohol-free outdoor event features 33 teen bands from the north metro area playing from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the area west of Community Park Pond, east of Main Street and Second Avenue.

During the day, food and soft drinks will be available. Games and activities are also planned with the music. About 2,000 students are expected to attend.  Minimum age is 16.

Volunteers are needed any time from noon to 9 p.m., and can work in hour-long shifts; however, multiple hours are preferred.

Specifically, the food booth can use three volunteers per hour to hand out pizza and pop.  Four stage hands are also needed each hour to help the bands set up on the stage and make sure only band members are on the stage.

Also needed are three volunteers each hour to help with picking up trash in the park.

To volunteer, contact Liane at 303.464.5876 as soon as possible to sign up.
