Arts, culture, science grant applications due September 21Grant applications for Broomfield’s Arts Culture and Science (ACS) funding are due by 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 21, to the Cultural Affairs Division at 1 DesCombes Drive in Broomfield. Schools, libraries and nonprofit organizations serving Broomfield may apply for ACS funding, budgeted at $10,947. There is no residency requirement although resident applicants will be given priority. Funded programs must be presented in Broomfield by Dec. 31, 2008. Special consideration will be given to grant applications proposing innovative programs supporting science, cultural diversity and/or the visual arts, as well as Broomfield’s cultural master plan, Creative Broomfield. Requests for general operations funding, capital campaigns, grants to individuals, and trip and event sponsorships will not be considered. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Grant applications will be reviewed by the Broomfield Cultural Council in October. Recommendations for funding will be submitted to the City Council for review and approval in November. Grants will be awarded in December for use in 2008 per signed contracts. Final reports on how funding was used will be due from grant recipients by March 1, 2009.
