Broomfield
Health and Human Services (HHS) is accepting nominations for the
Metropolitan Mayors and Commissioners Youth Award (MMCYA) to
recognize teenagers who have overcome personal adversity and
created positive change in their lives. Deadline for nominations
is Monday, Dec. 31.

Broomfield
has participated with Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Clear Creek,
Denver, Douglas, Gilpin and Jefferson Counties in the
Metropolitan Mayors and Commissioners Youth Award (MMCYA) since
its inception in 1986. The awards recognize teenagers who have
overcome personal adversity through service to self, family,
school and/or their community. This program offers youth the
opportunity to be recognized as valued and contributing members
of their community.
Business,
community and civic leaders are asked to nominate a young person
to demonstrate support for the young people living in
Broomfield, and focus on positive young people who serve as role
models to young and old alike. Anyone who knows a young person
who meets the criteria is encouraged to nominate them.
Nominees
will be recognized at the local level. Their nominations are
also forwarded for regional consideration where they may also be
recognized.
