Media Release Release Date: August 2, 2002 Rosann Doran Rotary plate is August ‘Plate of Month’ The the Colorado State Association of County Clerk and Recorders is highlighting the Rotary Plate as "Plate of the Month" for August. Broomfield is participating in the program, according to P.J. Taylor, supervisor of the Broomfield Motor Vehicle division. The monthly designation is part of the Association’s effort to better market the specialty plates in Colorado. Rotary International was founded in Chicago, Illinois, in 1905. Today it is a worldwide (in 169 countries) service organization which is non-political, non-denominational, and non-profit. In order to obtain a Rotary International Plate, Rotarians must make application to the Boulder Rotary Club with a $70 application fee. Of the $70 application fee, $35 will be sent to the Rotarian’s home club. In order to retain the plate, the Rotary Club of Boulder requires a $35 annual renewal fee. At the time of application at the County Clerk’s Office, an individual must present the pre-certification certificate, pay the applicable title and registration fees, and pay a one-time $25 specialty plate fee.
