Citizens’ Academy continues in October
The Broomfield Citizens’ Academy continues Oct. 24 with a session titled
"Our Community, Our Neighborhoods and You" at 6:30 p.m. in the City
Council Chambers at One DesCombes Drive. This session will deal with the land
use and planning process, the building department including inspections, and the
procedures for capital projects.
Sessions will be televised live on Broomfield’s cable channel 8, and
e-mailed questions from viewers will be accepted during the session.
Registration is not required, but is encouraged in order for sufficient
materials to be available. Anyone interested may attend. This is the third of

Sales, use tax seminars set for October
Broomfield businesses collecting sales taxes are invited to a free class to
learn about Broomfield’s conversion to a self-collected city sales tax, sales
tax procedures and requirements,
identification of taxable property, documentation procedures, filing
requirements and record keeping.
The seminar is scheduled Oct. 17 from 9 to 10:3 a.m. at the Broomfield
Municipal Center, One DesCombes Dr., in the Zang’s Spur conference room.

Second Child Care Summit set for Oct. 19
Broomfield’s second Child Care Summit, sponsored by the Department of
Health and Human Services (HHS), has been scheduled for Oct. 19 at the Chateaux
at Fox Meadows. Child care providers, parents and anyone interested in the
welfare of children are invited to attend. Child care providers who attend get
training credit.
