door to funding Recognizing that many organizations and agencies provide valuable services to Broomfield, the Mayor and City Council are offering an opportunity for non-profit and charitable organizations offering service in Broomfield to request funding from City Council for the budget year 2003 (January – December). Packets of information, including the necessary forms, are available in the administrative office on the second floor of the Health and Human Services building, #6 Garden Center, or at the Community Assistance Center in the Municipal Center, One DesCombes Drive. City Council will consider applications for funding based on availability of funds, and will prioritize requests for inclusion in the 2003 budget. The focus of funding will be directed to organizations that provide health or human services and/or improve the quality of life in Broomfield. Non-profit or charitable organizations wishing to request City/County funding must submit a Budget Request Form and other required information, by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2002. Non-profit associations or corporations will need to provide a certification of good standing, available on the Secretary of State’s Web site (sos.state.co.us/pubs/business/main.htm). Charitable organizations other than a non-profit are required to provide proof of registration with the Secretary of State to solicit funds. In order to be considered complete, each application must include: a completed Budget Request Form, Description of Services, and a certificate of good standing (if non-profit association or corporation) or proof of registration for solicitation of funds (if charitable organization). A brief description of the organization, not to exceed two typewritten pages, should accompany the Budget Request Form. It should include services the organization provides, a history of the organization’s service capacity in Broomfield, the population of Broomfield citizens served, the referral sources for these services in Broomfield, and any other pertinent information.
