Media Release Release Date: Feb. 14, 2002 Health & Human Services Rosann Doran Immunization clinic opens Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, Broomfield’s public health clinic will offer immunizations for children of city and county residents. The clinic, at 6 Garden Center in Broomfield, will immunize children on Tuesdays from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and on Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Broomfield residents should call 720-887-2220 for an appointment. The primary goal of the immunization clinic is to meet Colorado Board of Health requirements for minimum immunization compliance with the school entry immunization law. To attend school a student must have an age-appropriate certificate of immunization. Children’s immunizations include hepatitis B, DtaP, tetanus, polio, Hib, MMR, varicella, and pneumococcal. While children’s vaccines are free, there is an administrative fee of $15 per shot. Services will not be denied due to an inability to pay for any childhood vaccine required by Colorado State law. Persons with Medicaid or private insurance are welcome, but should check with their health plan as to where they can get their shots. The Immunization Clinic is funded in part by the Department of Health and Environment’s Vaccines for Children’s program. For further information, call the Broomfield Division of Public Health at 720-887-2220. | ||||||||||
