Media Release September 16, 2002 Second Academy session will convene next week The second session of the Broomfield Citizens’ Academy will convene Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at One DesCombes Drive. Residents interested in the "inner workings" of the city and county will find these monthly sessions informative and interesting, said Kirk Oglesby, director of Communications and Governmental Affairs, the department responsible for the new outreach program. Topic for the Thursday evening session is "Living and Working in Broomfield." Staff members from the Human Resources, Finance, and Clerk and Recorder departments will talk about their responsibilities. Attendees will learn how to find out what job openings are available with the city and county, about the new and innovative Central Records Office which was implemented with the inauguration of the combined city and county government, and how tax money is managed. Sessions will be televised live on Broomfield’s cable channel 8, and e-mailed questions from viewers will be accepted during the session. Registration is not required, but is encouraged in order for sufficient materials to be available. Anyone interested may attend. Call 303-438-6390 to register, or 303-438-6231 for more information.
