Categories are: Children/Youth, Seniors, Health, Community Pride, Education, Good Samaritan, Centennial Award, Environment, Rising Stars and "other" where nominators can create a new, relevant category title. Winners will be chosen based on five criteria: achievement – what the nominee accomplished through volunteer service; community need – how, through volunteer service, the nominee achieved an unmet need; innovation – how the nominee used an innovative or exemplary approach in performing volunteer service; mobilization – how the nominee mobilized other volunteers or generated increased resources; and ongoing involvement – how the nominee’s commitment was hands-on and sustained, rather than a one time activity. Information and nomination forms have been distributed to schools, churches and service clubs in Broomfield. The information is also available at the Community Assistance Center in the Broomfield Municipal Center, 1 DesCombes Drive and at the Health and Human Services Department, #6 Garden Center.
