Media Release Release Date: August 1, 2002 Rosann Doran New planning director to start Aug. 12 Terrance (Terry) Ware has accepted the Broomfield Planning Director position, and will begin work on Monday, Aug. 12. Ware will be instrumental in the upcoming Master Plan and Strategic Plan review activities scheduled to begin this fall. "I think we’ve found someone who will be a very positive addition to our team, especially during the Master Plan meetings," said Jim Black, Community Development Director. "Terry understands planning, and is eager to take on a major role in Broomfield’s process. He’s a real leader." Ware has 27 years of experience in all aspects of public and private sector urban design, redevelopment and land use planning. Most recently, he was employed by LDR International/HNTB as a principal responsible for marketing and managing local and regional urban design and land planning projects. Additionally, Ware has done work for Denver and Lakewood. He has directed or participated in preparing integrated land use and transportation plans, urban design concepts, schematics and plans; design guidelines, transit system facility design and station area plans. He also has worked with office, industrial, and research campus site plans, redevelopment projects for regional, community and neighborhood shopping centers and districts; blight studies and urban renewal plans, neighborhood, district, specific-area and comprehensive plans. A graduate of Denver’s East High School, Ware earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1976, and a Master in Architecture with emphasis in urban design from CU -Denver in 1982. He has been an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado School of Architecture and Planning for the past 10 years. Ware replaces John Franklin, who resigned | ||||||||||
