Media Release Release Date: March 20, 2002 Rosann Doran Public Health Office has preparedness brochures Broomfield’s Public Health office has free brochures for residents that outline "Home Emergency Preparedness in Colorado." "The brochure contains checklists to help families assemble items that would help them survive an emergency. Although much of the information is common sense, it helps to have it all in one place. The brochure can help anyone be ready for the unexpected," according to Broomfield Public Health Officer John Pickle. Copies of the brochure, which was prepared in both English and Spanish, are available at the Health Department offices at 6 Garden Center, and at the Broomfield Municipal Center Community Assistance Center, 1 DesCombes Dr., Pickle said. The brochures are part of a statewide effort, spearheaded by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, to make residents aware of what they can do to be ready for an emergency, whether it is a natural disaster, power failure or terrorism threat. Distribution of the brochures coincides with Colorado’s observance of 2002 National Public Health Week, April 1 through April 7. The Colorado theme for the week is "Public Health, Rain or Shine – Preparation, Protection, Prevention." | ||||||||||
