Media Release September 26, 2002 Broomfield City Council sets winter watering rules The City Council passed new outdoor watering regulations this week for residents and businesses in Broomfield. The new rules supercede the previous, every-three-day watering schedule. Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 1, outdoor watering is limited to one day a week for not more than three hours on the designated day. Residential addresses ending in an odd number may water on Saturdays, and addresses ending in an even number may water on Sundays. All non-residential properties may water on Monday. No exemption permits will be issued. Hand watering, soaker hoses and drip irrigation of flowers, vegetables, and trees is permissible at any time. Car washing is allowed only on the permitted watering day. Sidewalks, driveways or patios may not be washed by hoses at any time. Beginning Friday, Nov. 1, all turf watering is prohibited, and all other restrictions continue to apply. Additional information is available by calling 303-438-6210 or by checking the Broomfield Web site at www.ci.broomfield.co.us
