As the teams are introduced at the 1STBANK Center opening night, "Fonda Payne," center, of the Bad Apples, gives Green Barrettes  coach "Joe Mama" a side five.  

"Kendra Blood," of the Green Barrettes, goes for some side fives from the crowd as they are introduced.

Chuck Morris, president and chief executive of AEG Live Rocky Mountain Region, welcomes the largest crowd for a Colorado Roller Derby Bout.

"Fonda Payne," left, Bad Apples jammer, goes up against blocker, "Minimum Rage," of the Green Barrettes.

The jammers start to take off after the second whistle blows as the blockers wait in a group ahead of them. At the bout, fans are both in the seating area as well as around the track.

"Angela Death," left, of the Green Barrettes, gets a block from "Moira Lee DeVoid," of the Shotgun Betties, as she attempts to pass her for a point. 

"Death" gets a block from "Judo No," of the Shotgun Betties as she jams around the track.

Many fans crowd in around the track to cheer on their favorite team.

Jammers, like "Berlin Brawl," of the Shotgun Betties, get a point for every opposing team member they pass starting with their second time around the pack. The lead jammer is pointed out by the officials as they skate around the track.

The teams wear colorful outfits right down to their socks.

"Fonda Payne," center, is recognized by the crowd as the Bad Apples take a victory lap around the track after winning the bout.
