9/11 Sculptures Ready for Sept. 10, 2006 Ceremony
In the photo at left, sculptor Reynaldo "Sonny" Rivera, helps guide one of his sculptures as it is lifted to its plinth - with the Mamie Doud Eisenhower Library and Community Park pond seen behind him. At lower left Steve Krowczyk, general contractor with Milestone Construction, uses a saw to cut the area where the sculpture will be anchored. Below, from left, Rivera, Brent Allred, memorial grounds architect and North Metro Fire Rescue Chief John O'Hayre, help position one of the pieces. In the photo at bottom right Krowczyk operates the forklift crane to lift the sculptures into position.

The dedication of the 9/11 Memorial is the day before the fifth anniversary of the East Coast terrorism attack. It is on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006 at 6 p.m. The memorial is located west of Lamar Street between DesCombes Drive and Community Park Road (between the Mamie Doud Eisenhower Library and the Broomfield City and County Building) in Broomfield.
See more information about the event on the North Metro Fire Rescue District Web page. Or see their Web site. See photos from last year's Broomfield Healing Field Opening Ceremony the The Week (including the Closing Ceremony) , of which the proceeds from the sales at the event went toward this Memorial.
