The 2010 Broomfield Trail Adventure will take place on National Trails Day - Saturday, June 5!

Walkers on Lake Link Trail

The 9th annual Broomfield Trail Adventure will take place on Saturday, June 5, 2010. The event will be held at the Anthem Highlands Parkside Community Center located at 3624 Parkside Center Drive in Broomfield. See directions below.

Pelican on displayRegistration begins at 7:30 a.m., with the event starting at 8 a.m. The walk/ride concludes at approximately 10 a.m.

The entire event is free of charge.

  • 2.5-mile and 1-mile trail loops for families
  • 6-mile bike trail loop
  • Refreshments provided!
  • Enjoy educational and interpretive exhibits!
  • Prizes donated by local businesses

The event will be celebrated in conjunction with the 2010 Children's Wellness Day, under the shared motto "Follow the Trail to Family Wellness." The Children's Wellness Day program will run from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

The Children’s Wellness Day is organized by Healthy Learning Paths and a committee of community volunteers.  The program for the event will include joining the Broomfield Trail Adventure, distributing t-shirts to participants, children’s safety programs, family wellness programs, and a bicycle rodeo. There is also an essay contest for Broomfield youth with cash prizes to be awarded at the event.

This event will also be a zero-waste event with the help of Broomfield's Environmental Services division and volunteers. All materials for the events will either be recycled or composted.

Participants will also be treated to refreshments, t-shirts, and prizes at the event. Many local sponsors are donating their services/goods to the event and are identified on the Children’s Wellness Day program.

There will be a variety of educational and interpretive tables and displays at the event including the Broomfield Nature Program, the Broomfield Open Space Foundation, the CSU-Extension Service, Golden Bear Bikes, University of Colorado Hospital, a bone marrow donor drive, and several Broomfield city departments.

Directions to Anthem Highlands Community Center

From the south: Take Lowell Boulevard north, past the the Northwest Parkway in the Anthem development. Just before reaching Highway 7, make a right onto Indian Peaks Parkway. Make an immediate right onto Parkside Center Drive and pull into the Community Center on the right.

From the north: From Interstate 25, take Exit 229 for Highway 7 westbound. Drive west on Highway 7, until reaching Lowell Boulevard. Turn left onto Lowell Boulevard and proceed south for several hundred yards before turning left onto Indian Peaks Parkway. Make an immediate right onto Parkside Center Drive and pull into the Community Center on the right.
