It's Pup Season for Coyotes! Be Aware!
Coyotes are now raising their pups and can be
more
territorial as they guard their mates, dens, pups, and food sources. As the days become longer and people and their pets
spend more time outdoors, the possibility of a coyote interaction increases.
Find out how you can be safe and also enjoy seeing coyotes in the

Coexistence with Wildlife Policy
The Open Space and Trails Advisory Committee (OSTAC), Parks and Recreation
Advisory Committee (PRAC), and Colorado Division of Wildlife (CDOW) helped staff
develop a Coexistence with
Wildlife Policy. The City Council reviewed the policy during a study
session on April 20, 2010. There was a public open house on May 26, and
additional comments were solicited from attendees. Citizens were
encouraged to send comments online until May 31, as well.
OSTAC and PRAC discussed the Policy at the joint meeting of the committees on July 22 and recommended that
staff present the Policy to City Council for adoption.
The Policy was reviewed at the August 24 City Council meeting and approved, with some minor edits. The
final
Coexistence with Wildlife Policy is now available for viewing.
