The Cemeteries crew is responsible for all maintenance and operational duties within the Broomfield County Commons and Lakeview Cemeteries.
Supervisor Gary Schnoor
City Forester Tom Wells

Broomfield has two active cemeteries to operate and maintain. Lakeview Cemetery is across the street from Broomfield High School and is open for cremated remains only. It was established in 1890. The County Commons Cemetery, located at 9th and Sheridan, Broomfield County Commons Cemetery entranceopened in 2003 and offers locations for cremated remains and full burials of caskets. The cemetery currently has three and a half acres developed with room to expand up to over 10 acres. A large niche wall is available as well as a Veterans Section.

Cemetery Technician Matthew Martella and his seasonal employees have responsibility for all the landscape maintenance in both cemeteries. They provide services at the time of need, opening and closing graves, and they set up for final services.

Areas are mowed and trimmed twice a week during the growing season to keep each cemetery visually pleasing and comforting for the bereaved friends and families.
