The Training Unit is responsible for in-service training, field training programs, firearms, driving, defensive tactics training, and recruitment for the Police Department and Detention Center. Broomfield "On The Beat" Civil Unit
The Community Services Unit includes Animal Control, Property and Evidence,
Court Security and maintenance. Animal Control enforces City and County ordinances as they relate to animal control including animals running at large, animal bites, and barking dogs. To reach the Animal Control Unit, please call 303-438-6400.
The Police Services Unit includes School Resource Officers and the Civil Unit, which completes the service of a variety of legal papers such as eviction notices and restraining orders as well as the investigation and apprehension of fugitives from the court. School Resource Officers
The Broomfield Police Department is committed to providing the same quality level of police services to the school communities in Broomfield as it does the rest of the community. To that end, we have an extensive School Resource Officer (SRO) program that consists of full-time SROs in the public high schools, and part-time SROs in the middle and elementary schools.
Officer Kent Wichlacz is the School Resource Officer for Legacy High School.
Officer Dana Wieland is assigned to the Broomfield High School and all other Boulder Valley Schools.
Officer Doug Whiles services the Adams 12 District K - 8 schools in Broomfield: Centennial, Mountain View, Coyote Ridge, and Meridian Elementary
Schools, and Westlake Middle School.
