This follows a decrease in crime of 15% in 2006, and is the lowest rate of crime in our community since the Police
Department began maintaining statistics in 1980.

seen a steady decline this decade, and Broomfield citizens are less likely
to become the victims of crime than in the past. In the 1980s, the rate
of crime was 53 serious crimes for every 1,000 residents. In the
1990s, the rate decreased to 38. In 2007, the crime rate was

serious crimes for every 1,000 residents.
