Inmate Mail

Only letter and legal size envelopes are accepted.  The only items that can be sent with inmate letters are photos.  Photocopies of photographs or pictures are not acceptable.  Stamps, envelopes, or phone cards are also not acceptable.  Do not send material printed from the Internet.

Inmate Cash Accounts

Deposits can be made into an inmate's commissary account by cash, money order, traveler's check and/or certified funds. Personal checks and credit cards are not accepted. Please make funds payable to City and County of Broomfield in care of the inmate's name.

Funds may be mailed or accepted at the Detention Center Reception Desk Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. or during inmate visitation hours. The inmate will be notified that a deposit has been made.

Payments can also be made through Western Union, which is a fast, reliable, and convenient alternative.  Here's how a cash transfer works:

1.  Visit any Western Union Agent location and fill out the Blue Quick Collect Send Form.  Be sure to include the following information:

Pay to:  S S C
Code City / State: COBRACASH/CO
Account Number:  BJC + Inmate ID # + Last Name

The above information must be complete and correct on the Blue Quick Collect Send form.  Please direct any questions to the inmate for clarification.

2.  Give cash and the service fee to the clerk and they will process your money transfer.

3.  Once money is sent, you will receive a receipt and the Detention Center is then sent notification.

4.  Then, the transfer amount is credited to the inmate's account by the Detention Center.

You may also use a credit/debit card to send a money transfer to the inmate's account by calling 800-634-3422 or by going online at www.westernunion.com.  All three payment options through Western Union are subject to the service terms and conditions including different fees, send amounts, and other restrictions by state.

To make commissary deposits 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, visit www.GovPayNOW.com or call 888-277-2535.  You will need:
1.  Your credit or debit card (Visa, Master Card, American Express, or Discover)
2.  Inmate's name, number, and location (BJC)
3.  Pay location Code 5500
