Construction of the Broomfield
Swim and Tennis Club began social and recreational activities for
Broomfield residents.

Broomfield’s Police Department in 1969 consisted
of Ray Miller, Ted Fritz, Chief Bishop, Doris Kirsch, Mervin Cox,
Frank Lewark, James Webb,K-9 Officer Prince, and Bill Brophy.
City Council members in 1968 were
Jack
Elliott, Bill Farmer, John Shaw, Joe Forsyth, Mayor Clyde Brunner,
Lucy Brown, Pete Peterson, Bob Williams, Ron Lantz, Norman Smith
along with City Manager George DiCiero, and City Attorney Jerry
Russell.
This Police Department sign was
erected in 1970. At the time, the Police Department was located in
the basement of the Empire Savings and Loan Building.
