The
Police Department
at 7 DesCombes Drive
and
Combined Courts Facility
at
17 DesCombes Drive
On November 15, 2001, the City of Broomfield
transformed to the City and County of Broomfield. This conception
necessitated the addition of County Court Offices. A new
building has been constructed as a combined facility, with the
Police Department occupying the west half, and the combined
County/Municipal Court Facility in the east half of the building.
The new Police facility, located at
7 DesCombes Drive, is directly north of the original police facility
within the municipal center at One DesCombes Drive. Several
existing and new City/County offices will be housed in the original
structure.
The new facility was designed to architecturally blend with the existing building. Similar, and yet unique, outside structural designs were incorporated, with a
curved plaza area centrally located to allow for flow between the two
The rounded front entrance pre-cast was duplicated to bring together not only the Police and Court facilities, but the initial City Hall building as well. Walkways throughout the landscaping allow for easy access between the two facilities.
