Camp Explorer Swim Lessons
This class is only available only for Camp Explorer participants who can’t fit swim lessons into their schedule outside of camp and need to work on skills. Staff will bring registered participants from The Bay to the Broomfield Community Center for the lesson.

Camp Explorer Level I
Recommended age: 5 to 10 years; REQUIRED to be in Quandary Or Torreys camp group (Entering grades 1 - 4)
Skills include: but not limited to; confidence, water adjustment, front and back floats, flutter kick, beginning rhythmic breathing, and beginning front and back crawl strokes.

Camp Explorer Level II
Recommended age: 6 to 10 years; REQUIRED to be in Quandary Or Torreys camp group (Entering grades 1 - 4)
Skills include: continued development of front and backstrokes, standing front dive, elementary backstroke, introduction to breaststroke, sidestroke, introduction to flip turns, diving and open turns.

Camp Explorer Backstory Theatre
Day Camp Performance Workshop: Wizard of Oz
Students will rehearse for a final performance for family and friends while being taught fundamental acting skills, audition techniques, being coached on character development, stage movement, and building a cohesive cast. Please note: Memorization of lines will be required. Primary costumes will be provided. The final day of class will be a dress rehearsal held at the Broomfield Auditorium from 1 - 6:30 p.m. with a performance following at 6:30 p.m.. Transportation for the last day can be provided by Recreation Staff for rehearsal. Payable by check to BackStory Theatre.

Skyhawks provides a wide variety of fun, safe and positive programs that emphasize critical lessons in sports and life, such as teamwork, respect and sportsmanship. Camp Explorer Tech Activities

Hogwarts Amusement Park
Calling all Muggles & Wizards. Let’s build Hogwarts your way! Using LEGO® Harry Potter® kits and advanced LEGO® Mindstorms systems with computers, students will build and program a train, bumper cars, twirling ride, and tour bus, and designs of their own imagination. Also design and build roller coaster rides with software and/or k’Nex; with your own twist on Universal Studios’ rides!

Engineering - Robotic Style (PICO I)
Be an inventor! Light and sound sensors, pulleys, wheels, levers and gears are all at your command! Design your machine, program it using Pico Cricket®, and start it moving. Classes include a whirlwind of merry-go-rounds, speeding cars, and snapping dragons! This course prepares students for more advanced programming and LEGO® robotics.
