Lastly is Explorer Extension Camp: This Camp is for kids 6-15 years of age. This camp will be held at the Broomfield Community Center after Camp Explorer has ended but school has not yet started. Kids will go on field trips every day during these two weeks! This option runs from July 30-August 10, depending on how many weeks you register for.

Please be aware of the "Pre-Camp Week." This week we do more in-depth training of new staff so participants will do the same activities as in regular camp, however registration will be more limited.

What do you do at Aspen Creek?
Kids are broken up into groups by age and rotate to different activity stations. One rotation includes a variety of activities for kids to do. Each Friday we have a whole camp activity and often a theme for the day. Camp staff diversify activities and each member brings in games varying from sports, science, crafts, arts, individual play, team work games and more! There is also an opportunity to register for Theatre Workshops, Sport Camps, and Tech Activities. New in 2012 Camp Staff will also be offering a free "Camp Club" so look for information and sign ups at Camp.

What do I need for the Parent’s Meeting?
The Parent Meeting will be at the Broomfield Community Center on Monday, May 14, 2012. Please bring your completed paperwork to the parents meeting and any questions you still have after reading the parent’s manual. According to licensing, the Parent's meeting is MANDATORY.

How do I register for the extra programs?
We've added Camp Extras! Choose from Swim Lessons, BackStory Theatre, Tech Activities and Skyhawks Sport Camps. Or sign them up for them all! Please make sure you are registering for the CAMP ONLY classes. To register for BackStory, Tech Activities, and SkyHawks, you must come to either Recreation Center and pay by CHECK to the company. What is the staff like?
All staff has been through a thorough background check in accordance to Colorado Child Care Licensing Standards. Further, staff is trained and certified in CPR, first aid, and Universal Precautions. Staff attend Staff also has a week-long Camp Explorer specific training including how to be an effective supervisor on field trips, at The Bay, and the Paul Derda Recreation Center. New staff "shadow" returning staff members during the first week of camp as well. Staff attend weekly meeting to address any concerns and review special needs for certain campers. Most staff have some at least some college education.

What do you have for parents who only need a few days a week?
Camp Explorer registration can only be broken down to per week sessions. There is no option for daily registration. It is encouraged for parents to look at the pricing of their specific camp and break it down per hour in order to decide if Camp Explorer is still a reasonable option.

I have more than one child, are there any price breaks?
We determine our price based on the cost per child. We cannot offer additional children a lower registration fee unless we raised the overall registration fee.

When do my kids need to be dropped off and picked up?
Our hours of operation are 7am-6pm at Aspen Creek K-8. All drop-off and pick-up is at Aspen Creek. Each week an activity schedule will be available on our Parent's Page indicating where kids will be throughout the day. If you need to pick up or drop off your child during a field trip you must see the Director on site to fill out the sign in & out sheets.
