Spinning® for Weight Loss
The Spinning 8-week Weight Loss Program is not a diet, it’s a plan you can live with. Jazzercise
Burn up to 600 calories in one fun and powerfully effective 60-minute total body workout. Every Jazzercise fitness class combines dance-based cardio with strength training and stretching to sculpt, tone and lengthen muscles for maximum fat burn. Choreographed to today’s hottest music, Jazzercise is a fusion of jazz dance, resistance training, Pilates, yoga, and kickboxing. Questions are answered at the first class before the tuition is collected. See fees and when Jazzercise is offered.


Zumba
Zumba combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations that allow the Zumba participants to dance away their worries. It is based on the principle that a workout should be FUN AND EASY TO DO allowing Zumba participants to stick to the Zumba Fitness program and achieve long-term health benefits. First class is FREE! Our 15th Annual Spring Fitness Challenge is your chance to win a Recreation Pass for a year to PDRC and BCC. Incentive gift awarded to all participants and opportunities to win additional prizes throughout.

Individual Challenge (only)
Sign up for your initial Fitness Assessment & Body Fat Test to get you started. Workout a minimum of 3 days per week, re-test at the end of the 8 weeks, lose the largest percentage of body weight and win an individual Recreation Pass for a year! Challenge runs from January 30 - March 23. Final weigh-outs are held the week of March 26 - 29.  Age: 16 years and over

Group Challenge (only)
Lead by a certified Personal Trainer, you train with 7 - 11 additional people to accomplish your personalized weight loss and exercise goals. Weight and body fat loss are monitored, motivating workouts that challenge and change, nutritional guidance, and weekly goals are set by your personal trainer. Challenge runs from February 8 - April 1 with final weigh outs on April 4 or 5. Do you need a different day and time? Couch to 5K
This program is designed to get you off the couch and running 3.1 miles in just 8 weeks! Learn the basic of running form and safety techniques as you follow a trainer-led running plan. The Couch to 5K helps with your training by providing motivation and support by training with others. You will be ready to run the Broomfield Days 5K. For ages 16 years and over.

ViPR CLASSES
ViPR bridges the gap between movement and strength. ViPR is the ultimate whole-body tool, combining traditional resistance exercises together with the agility required for achieving optimal sports and fitness performance. Course is designed as small group personal training with a maximum of four people per class. For ages 12 years and over.

Broomfield Brawler - The Ultimate Scavenger Hunt
Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the Broomfield Community Center
It's a scavenger race with the same idea as a wilderness eco-challenge, but set right here in Broomfield and is conducted in a few hours. First, the race stops are a secret - hence the “scavenger” part of the name. Running and biking will be utilized during the race. Additional disciplines that each team may use could include climbing, scootering/skating, navigation, and some surprises. Technically, swimming is not listed but we reserve the right to get racers wet! Grab your running shoes, bikes and helmets and we’ll provide the rest! Registration forms will be accepted via mail or drop-off to Broomfield Community Center or the Paul Derda Recreation Center until April 15 ! All registration forms must be filled out completely with payment attached. Payment by check only, made out to”F.R.I.E.N.D.S of Broomfield”. Late registrants may be accepted at the discretion of the race committee and will not receive a tech shirt.

Half & Full Marathon Training Group
Meet 2 days per week to run and train with a group. You will get customized training plans for the full 16 weeks, group support and encouragement to help you train for any fall full or half marathon including the Denver Rock 'n Roll, Chicago, or Boulder races. Long Runs are included. Please note: child sitting at PDRC is not available. For ages 16 years and over.

Taekwondo

This class offers superior martial arts instruction in Tae Kwon Do at an affordable expense. Students develop and harness their inner strength through rigorous, disciplined and fast-pace classes focused on stretching, physical conditioning, and technique (i.e. kicks, punches, strikes and blocks).
