The story of
Butterfly Pavilion Senior Day –
Join us for a special day out just for seniors at the Butterfly Pavilion!
The theme is “Pollination Nation” including an activity guide to the
Pavilion exploring garden pollinators, butterflies flying around your head in
the conservatory, talks about pollinators throughout the day, music and much
more! The Pavilion is also
celebrating their 13th birthday and birthday cake will be served!
Fee includes transportation, admission and box lunch and beverage.
Colorado Rockies Baseball vs. SanFrancisco Giants (2-3) Adults age 55+ can take advantage of a day at Coors Field for fresh air, a hot dog, and to sing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame”. All seats are under shelter, and near restrooms and food. An elevator is also available. Let’s hope September turns into Rocktober for our 2007 National League Champions! Fee includes game and transportation. Lunch is on your own at the Park.* Pre-ticketed activity. Refunds are not available unless a replacement is found.
Senior Zoofari –
Join Denver Zoo for a wild safari trek through the zoo during Senior Zoofari.
Visitors ages 65 and older will receive free admission all day.
Guests will enjoy activities stations, entertainment and stopping by the
senior resource booths. A shuttle is
available for viewing different areas of the zoo, or stroll along at your own
pace for animal viewing. Lunch is
on your own at the concessions or the Hungry Elephant restaurant.
The Brown Palace Hotel & Spa High Tea & Tour (2-3) This historic landmark is a wonderful place to visit, any time of year. Take a tour through the Hotel and be enlightened by its famous visitors. Churchhill and other esteemed dignitaries have all slept at this exclusive hotel in downtown Denver, Colorado. After the tour, relax and enjoy high tea on the mezzanine, complete with a glass of champagne! Fee includes transportation, tour and high tea. Dressy attire (fancy hats, gloves) is preferred for this event.
RMNP Cookout & Elk Viewing (4) Enjoy a BBQ picnic in the beautiful town of Estes Park. We then go into the RMNP to enjoy elk viewing and bugling. Price includes a BBQ picnic, drinks and transportation. Bring a camera and a jacket for cool weather. The elevation is over 8,000 feet. Entrance to the park is $10 on your own (Golden Age Parks Pass is highly recommended for free RMNP admission). Fee includes dinner and transportation.
Denver Performing Arts Complex Tour and Lunch (3) The Denver Performing Arts Complex tour is 90 minutes. This guided tour provides a unique look at the Arts Complex and showcase rarely seen areas such as Actor’s Alley where door-size, hand-painted replicas of Broadway show posters adorn the walls and feature autographs of cast members. Participants may see theatre design and construction first hand in the Tramway Building where all of the props, costumes, lighting and scenery are created for the Denver Center Theatre Company. After the tour we will head over to “The Corner Office” for lunch. Lunch is on your own. Fee includes transportation and tour.
The Brook Forest Inn-Lunch & Ghost Tour-Evergreen (2-3) Nestled in the Rockies 35 miles west of Denver, the Historic Brook Forest Inn has a rich and colorful history complete with ghost tales. As a result of the many worldly stories, legend has it that there were secret meetings of Nazi gatherings, gold hidden in the walls and ghostly spirits seen of a stable hand and a chamber maid. Originally built by a Swiss family in the early 1900’s, the Inn has been completely restored to its original stately grandeur. The Inn boasts of fine furnishings, antiques, fine art and world-class amenities. Enjoy a delicious lunch in a beautiful mountain setting, followed by the tour. Fee includes transportation, lunch and tour.
National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL)-Golden (1-2) The NREL Visitors Center offers educations programs free of charge. Each scheduled program is guided and includes a welcome video on the nature of renewable energy, a presentation on NREL’s research and technologies, and an appropriate exercise to discover the interactive exhibit hall. Fee includes transportation and tour. Lunch is on your own at the Colorado Mills Mall.
United States Olympics Visitor Center Complex-Colorado Springs (4) Free public tours are conducted on a year-round basis by United States Olympic Committee ambassadors. The tour includes a film and an outdoor walking tour of the complex. Nearly 150 athletes representing a dozen sports live at the complex on a full-time basis. Visitors have the opportunity to view athlete training facilities including sprot Center gymnasiums, wieighlifting and wrestling facilities, the USA shooting Center, Coaching & Sports Science, the Aquatics Center and Sport Medicine. Fee includes transportation and tour. Lunch is on your own at the complex.
Hammonds Candy Factory Tour & Lunch at Famous Daves Enjoy Hammonds, a company well known for its tradition of hard candy-making .On this tour, witness hard candy being made such as the traditional ribbon candies, design-centered candies and lollipops. Shop afterwards for your Holiday favorites before heading to lunch at Famous Daves for a delicious lunch of St. Louis style ribs or other BBQ fare! Menu prices range from $10-40, depending upon your selection. Fee includes transportation & tour. Lunch is on your own.
Heritage Square Music Hall-Golden - “Cricket on the Hearth” Holiday Show (3-4) A classic Dickens tale with a humorous twist, followed by a Christmas comedy review. Get in the spirit of the Holidays by attending this performance and enjoying a delicious luncheon buffet with breakfast & lunch items! There is an incline to walk up to get to the music hall with a ramp and railing. Lunch is on the second floor and no elevator is available. The Buell Theatre-Denver - “Jersey Boys”(1) This musical portrays the lives of Rock N’ Roll Hall of Famers. Come relieve how four blue collar kids became one of the greatest successes in pop music history. Fee includes transportation and show. Georgetown Christmas Market-Georgetown, CO (5) Experience this winter holiday wonderland as the magic of an old-fashioned Christmas is recaptured in Victorian Georgetown. There are hand-crafted gift items, baked goods, entertainment and many beautiful decorations. Lunch is on your own at one of the local restaurants. Fee includes transportation only. The elevation is approximately 7500 feet.
Boulder Dinner Theater - “The Producers” (1) The story line of this comedy- musical concerns two theatrical producers who scheme to get rich by overselling interests in a Broadway flop. Complications arise when the show unexpectedly turns out to be a success! Songs featured include “The King of Broadway”, “I Want to be a Producer”, “When You’ve Got It, Flaunt It”, “Springtime for Hitler”, and “Prisoner of Love”.
