BBQ Breakfast at Eldorado Canyon State Park (3)

Located 8 miles southwest of Boulder, this state park has streamside picnic areas and trails with panoramic vistas, and some of the best rock climbing available. Fee includes park entrance fee, transportation and lunch.

Butterfly Pavilion Senior Day – Westminster (3-4)

Join us for a special day out just for seniors at the Butterfly Pavilion!  The theme is “Pollination Nation” including an activity guide to the Pavilion exploring garden pollinators, butterflies flying around your head in the conservatory, talks about pollinators throughout the day, music and much more!  The Pavilion is also celebrating their 13th birthday and birthday cake will be served!  Fee includes transportation, admission and box lunch and beverage.

Colorado Rockies Baseball vs. SanFrancisco Giants (2-3)

Adults age 55+ can take advantage of a day at Coors Field for fresh air, a hot dog, and to sing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame”. All seats are under shelter, and near restrooms and food. An elevator is also available. Let’s hope September turns into Rocktober for our 2007 National League Champions! Fee includes game and transportation. Senior Zoofari – Denver Zoo  (4-5)

Join Denver Zoo for a wild safari trek through the zoo during Senior Zoofari.  Visitors ages 65 and older will receive free admission all day.  Guests will enjoy activities stations, entertainment and stopping by the senior resource booths.  A shuttle is available for viewing different areas of the zoo, or stroll along at your own pace for animal viewing.  Lunch is on your own at the concessions or the Hungry Elephant restaurant.

The Brown Palace Hotel & Spa High Tea & Tour (2-3)

This historic landmark is a wonderful place to visit, any time of year. Take a tour through the Hotel and be enlightened by its famous visitors. Churchhill and other esteemed dignitaries have all slept at this exclusive hotel in downtown Denver, Colorado. RMNP Cookout & Elk Viewing (4)

Denver Performing Arts Complex Tour and Lunch (3)

The Denver Performing Arts Complex tour is 90 minutes. This guided tour provides a unique look at the Arts Complex and showcase rarely seen areas such as Actor’s Alley where door-size, hand-painted replicas of Broadway show posters adorn the walls and feature autographs of cast members. Participants may see theatre design and construction first hand in the Tramway Building where all of the props, costumes, lighting and scenery are created for the Denver Center Theatre Company. After the tour we will head over to “The Corner Office” for lunch. Lunch is on your own. Fee includes transportation and tour.

The Brook Forest Inn-Lunch & Ghost Tour-Evergreen (2-3)

National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL)-Golden (1-2)

The NREL Visitors Center offers educations programs free of charge. Each scheduled program is guided and includes a welcome video on the nature of renewable energy, a presentation on NREL’s research and technologies, and an appropriate exercise to discover the interactive exhibit hall. Fee includes transportation and tour. Lunch is on your own at the Colorado Mills Mall.

United States Olympics Visitor Center Complex-Colorado Springs (4)

Free public tours are conducted on a year-round basis by United States Olympic Committee ambassadors. The tour includes a film and an outdoor walking tour of the complex. Nearly 150 athletes representing a dozen sports live at the complex on a full-time basis. Visitors have the opportunity to view athlete training facilities including sprot Center gymnasiums, wieighlifting and wrestling facilities, the USA shooting Center, Coaching & Sports Science, the Aquatics Center and Sport Medicine. Fee includes transportation and tour. Lunch is on your own at the complex.

Barr Lake State Park & Nature Center-Brighton (4)

Just a short drive northeast of the Denver area, there is something here for every type of outdoors person. More than 350 species of birds have been seen in the park.
The Niedrach Nature Trail is our destination. From the Nature Center, there is a short loop trail through an open field, along the lake shore and across a boardwalk over the lake. Round-trip is 2.6 miles. Hikers must bring a sack lunch for the outdoor picnic area (weather permitting). A lunch beverage will be provided. There will also be an opportunity to tour the Nature Center. Fee includes transportation and park fee.
