Winter Break Camp

Spend Winter Break with adventurous field trips with your friends! From Casa Bonita to bowling, our campers are busy every day. Exact trips will be posted at The Community Center and Paul Derda Recreation Center by November 10. Register early, space is limited! Location: BCC. For ages 6–12 years.

What is better than having a day off from school? Having something to do! You’ll be able to hang out with all your friends all day filled with activities and field trips. Activities may include sports, games, arts and crafts, and swimming. Field trips are tentative.

Spend Spring Break with a week of adventurous field trips with your friends! Spring Break Out takes advantages of Spring Break by taking field trips everyday of the week. Performance Workshop: Enter Stage Write
Students will learn the process of play writing and work together as a team to create an original work for performance. The class will combine creative writing skills and teach students fundamental acting skills. Students will be coached on character development while rehearsing for a final performance for family and friends. The final day of class will be held at the Broomfield Auditorium with a performance following at 7 p.m.. Please note: Memorization of lines is required. Primary costumes will be provided. An additional $25 performance fee is due on the first day of class.

Make Believe and Beyond: Aesop’s Fabulous Fables
Enter the fabulous world of Aesop’s Fables, where there is a boy who cried wolf, a tortoise who runs a race, a cat that needs a bell, and many other mischievous animals. Students will be introduced to the basics of acting through theatre exercises and developing an improvised script of these fun stories to perform for family and friends. Advanced Performance Workshop: The Master Cat (Le Maistre Chat)
This class is for students that have previously participated in at least one of BackStory’s 3rd- 6th Grade Performance Workshops. Join us for this retelling of Charles Perrault’s classic tale of Puss in Boots. He and his master will learn that there is more to life than the finer things. Students will strengthen fundamental acting skills and be coached on character development while rehearsing for a final performance for family and friends. The class is sure to be full of fun and adventure! The final day of class will be held at the Broomfield Auditorium with a performance following at 7 p.m.. Youth TaeKwon Do  This class is open to all students, white through black belt for students under 12 years old, and any level, white through black belt. It is specifically oriented for the younger crowd and is less strenuous. This class develops TaeKwon Do techniques in a manner and pace suitable for kids. Jump Bunch Jump Bunch introduces sports and fitness to your child in a hands-on setting. The program utilizes a different sport or activity each class. Jump Bunch builds coordination and interest in sports in a safe, non competitive environment. It also fosters a positive attitude so that children are eager to try new activities. Young Rembrandts at Sea Camp (ages 6 to 12)
Grab your goggles and your sense of adventure - Young Rembrandts is taking you on a colorful, seafaring voyage! Students will begin this 3-day workshop by drawing a tropical fish graphic. We’ll give our scene pop and dimension using fundamental patterning techniques and bold color choices. On Day 2, bring your giggles as we learn to cartoon! Holiday Art Camp - Once Upon a Time
Classic books such as Cinderella and The Three Little Pigs to contemporary books such as Olivia, Curious George, Dr. Seuss, and Goodnight Moon provide the inspiration for this fun filled art camp! We’ll do art projects to coordinate with each book as we sculpt, paint, draw, collage, mix, mold and create. Along the way we’ll make masks from Where the Wild Things Are and give a Moose a Muffin. Take a trip Around the World with Abrakadoodle using printing, sculpture, collage and lots of color.
