Classes are held at the: BROOMFIELD CITY AND COUNTY BUILDING, One DesCombes Drive, Broomfield, CO 80020
(From 120^th Ave & Lamar St. ( Which is 12 blocks West of Sheridan Blvd), Go North on Lamar St. for 3 blocks to the Muni Center)

(Upon arrival, check-in with the Community Assistance Center, main lobby, for directions to training room)

Building Use Tax Contractor Class Only

City and State Sales Tax Procedures for Contractors: presented by the City and County of Broomfield and Colorado Department of Revenue.

1) Broomfield seminar: 9 - 11 a.m., January 20, 2010 (Zang Spur Classroom)
2) State of Colorado Contractor seminar: 1 - 4 p.m January 20, 2010 . (Zang Spur Classroom)

January 21, 2010:

On January 21, 2010, the Colorado Department of Revenue will be holding a "Consumer Use Tax
in the Broomfield City Council Chambers from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. See above site to register. The city will not be presenting such a class in the morning as we do not have a Consumer Use Tax. Our Use tax cover Construction Materials and Motor Vehicles only.

Classes will include: Building Permit Process, calculation of Use Tax deposits, how to exempt City and County Use Tax when purchasing materials, reporting of costs on completed projects, documentation needed for audits, and registration of �exempt� construction projects. Included will be a review of the permit review program which started in 2006.

Classes will include information on: Conversion to Broomfield self-collected City Sales Taxes and FlatIrons Improvement District sales taxes, sales tax procedures and requirements, identification of taxable property, documentation procedures, filing requirements, record-keeping, and an introduction to Personal Property Taxes.
