EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2002, THE CITY AND COUNTY OF
BROOMFIELD BECAME "SELF-COLLECTED" FOR SALES TAX
PURPOSES. THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE (CDOR) NO LONGER
COLLECTS SALES TAX FOR THE CITY AND COUNTY OF BROOMFIELD.
THE NEW CITY AND COUNTY SALES TAX RETURN (SHOWN
BELOW) INCLUDES THE "COMBINED CITY AND COUNTY
TAX", THE FLATIRON IMPROVEMENT TAX, AND THE LODGING EXCISE TAX. COUNTY
SALES TAX, AND THE FLATIRON IMPROVEMENT TAX ARE NO LONGER SENT
TO THE STATE OF COLORADO.

Event Sales In Broomfield:
(New as of January 1, 2003) |
As of January 1, 2003, new requirements were made
effective for collection
and remittance of sales
taxes during a "Special Event" sale, held at locations not covered by
the "regular" sales tax license. Special Event licenses are no
longer required, or issued, to Special Event Vendors. Each organizer
must obtain a regular sales tax license and the organizer must
collect the taxes from the vendors using forms provided by the City and
County. (See the links below for the new rules specific to organizers and to
vendors)
