Community Resources for Seniors

It is our goal to assist you in any way that we can.  We have listed below a number of resources that are available to you.

Respite Care
Are you caring for someone age 60 or older?  The City and County of Broomfield has Respite Services available to help you.  The grant provides in-home respite, respite at skilled nursing facilities or even adult day care.

Assisted Living Facilities
Assisted living facilities offer an independent environment with 24 hour assistance. Several options are available: freestanding large facilities, personal care boarding houses, or continuum of care facilities. Services usually include communal meals, housekeeping, social activities, & assistance based on personal needs.

Retirement Communities
Retirement Communities offer apartment living on a rental basis. Communal dining and full range of activities are available. Housekeeping, laundry, and assisted living services are sometimes available.

Subsidized Independent Living
Low income housing, partially funded for those who qualify. Independent living communities are designed for active seniors featuring low-maintenance. Some communities have age restrictions.

Home Health Agencies

Provide health care professionals to an individual in variety of settings from an hour to 24 hours a day depending upon need. Most agencies have a registered nurse to do an appraisal of patient’s needs. A number of health care professionals are available including: registered nurses; licensed practical nurses; home health aides; homemakers; occupational, physical, speech therapists; medical social workers and personal care givers. Reimbursement can be from Medicare & Medicaid (if the agency is certified), insurance and private pay.
