Street Construction - Summer 2010
Segments of water line will be reconstructed during spring/summer 2010.
Waterline Replacement is an annual program to replace aging, deteriorated or
failing water lines throughout Broomfield. Broomfield has conducted this
proactive program since 1985. The goal of the program is to identify and replace
aging, deteriorated or failing lines in a timely manner in order to reduce
interruptions in water service to the customer due to water line breaks.
Public Works maintains an inventory of water lines in the city that includes
data on the age of the lines, pipe material, and where problem areas have been
detected. Lines are selected for replacement based on the history of pipeline
breaks, the age of the pipe and type of pipe material, and whether the street is
due for surface improvement.
After the water line work is complete, the affected
street will be resurfaced. The spring/summer 2010 project includes the
following streets:
Additionally, several street segments are scheduled for
pavement preservation projects between June and November 2010. A
listing of those streets is available for your viewing.
