Customer Service

Customer Service:
The Utility Services Division provides 24-hour coverage for pressure problems, broken sprinklers, service line leaks, sewer problems and water quality problems. They also coordinate water system improvements and projects such as the Waterline Replacement Program, and assist in new construction, operating valves, filling and flushing new water lines.

Maintenance is a large part of the daily workload. Occasionally, when systems experience minor interruptions due to age or ground conditions, utility crews work to make most repairs on any type of pipe with minimal inconveniences to customers. Their goal is to maintain the quality of water that customers deserve.

Utilities personnel also install and maintain all residential, commercial, industrial, irrigation, and construction water meters.

Special Needs Customers: The Utility Services Division will extend special consideration to any resident or customer that may be affected by an emergency or scheduled water outage. We understand that there are certain medical procedures that may be interrupted during a utilities operation. If you or somebody you know has a condition that utilizes special medical equipment, we urge you to contact the Utility Services Division at 303.438.6334 or e-mail us.

Man locating utility line

Customer locates:
The Utility Services Division is responsible for locating the city's existing underground utilities, which include  water, sanitary sewer, reuse water, and storm sewer lines. Over 3,800 locates are requested annually for water, wastewater and stormwater systems.

Locates are scheduled 48 hours prior to any excavation, boring, or drilling operation. Locates are done to prevent any damage to existing utilities or personnel.

Any other locates (gas, electric, telephone, fiber optic, and cable TV) must be scheduled through the: Utility Notification Center of Colorado at  1.800.922.1987.
