The following City and County of Broomfield Internet
Privacy Statement pertains to the information gathering practices of
the City and County with regard to visits to and use of online
services on our Web site.
By using Broomfield's site, you agree, without
limitation or qualification, to be bound by this Privacy Statement,
which applies to the City and County's official Web site located at
http://www.broomfield.org/.
Information you provide
As a governmental entity, the City and
County of Broomfield is subject to the Colorado Open Records Act (C.R.S.
24-72-101 et seq.) (CORA). CORA defines public records to include
all writings made, maintained, or kept by a political subdivision of
the state for use in the exercise of functions required or
authorized by law or administrative rule or involving the receipt or
expenditure of public funds. Therefore, you should not send
information in an e-mail that you would not want a third party to
read as certain correspondence may constitute a public record
subject to disclosure under state law. CORA also provides that
public access shall be denied to names, addresses, telephone numbers
and personal financial information of past or present users of
public utilities, public facilities or recreational or cultural
services that are owned or operated by the political subdivision.
C.R.S. 24-72-204 (3) (a) (IX). As such, contact information that
you provide in that capacity will not be disclosed.
Using e-mail addresses provided at
registration or otherwise, users are giving Broomfield permission to
periodically send out e-mail newsletters and promotional e-mail to
our users about Web site updates, and product and service information
offered by Broomfield. Users may indicate that they do not wish to
receive e-mail information from Broomfield. Upon request, Broomfield
will remove users, and their information, from its database or
permit them to elect not to receive any further e-mail newsletters
or contact.
User Session Information
The City and County of Broomfield does not
routinely collect or keep personal information about your visit to
our site. Like most Internet sites our Web site reads some
information from your computer that helps us analyze traffic
patterns, perform routine maintenance and to help you navigate
through our site. Generally the information we collect is temporary
and when you leave the site this information is deleted from your
computer. However some statistical information is collected
and retained by the City and County of Broomfield, without any
personal identifying information about the user being attached. The

when the browser window is closed. In some instances, however,
cookie files may persist for a longer duration. If your Web browser
does not accept cookies, you will be able to navigate the
information content on our site, but you may not be able to use some
of the online transaction services provided by the City and County.
