Margaret Brent, Legendary Lawyer of Colonial Maryland (re-enactment)
Margaret Brent is a little-known figure in colonial American history, yet she had a significant impact on the early Maryland colony in the 1600's. She was a landowner, an executor, and an agent, and acted as a lawyer for many colonists. She influenced the colony as a woman, a Catholic, a landowner, and a business leader. She was the most prominent and conspicuous woman in Maryland at the time and boldly asked for a vote on the Maryland Assembly. Join presenter Colleen Sawyer for this engaging historical reenactment of the first American suffragist.
