Purpose

The purpose of the Library Board is to serve as an advisory body to City Council regarding the operations of the library.

Establishment

The Library Board was established by Chapter 2-52-020 of the Municipal Code and Resolutions No. 4-85 and No. 5-93.

Mission

The Library Board is a seven-member board appointed by and advisory to the Broomfield City Council. Members must be residents of the city. The board convenes to organize and elect a chairman, vice-chairman, and secretary.

The board reviews the annual budget request prepared by the library director prior to submittal to the city manager and city council and provides written recommendations regarding approval. The board works in unison with the library director to aid in fulfilling the library needs for Broomfield residents.

Get Involved

Any interested citizen is invited to attend board meetings. Please call the library to confirm meeting times. Applications for open positions are available in January of each year.
