2017 Kid's Summer Reading Program

June 1 - July 29
For kids from birth through entering 5th grade

Welcome to the Summer Reading Program!

Step 1:

Register online beginning May 14. Kids from birth through entering 5th Grade may register. You can also register in person or online from June 1 - July 16. Click here for the main flyer, which lists all of our special events.

Step 2:

Beginning June 1, pick up the reading log for your age and start reading! You have until July 16 to register online or in person and to pick up your reading log, but the sooner you get your log, the sooner you can start tracking your reading and earning prizes! There are three separate reading logs and challenges to meet the needs of kids of all ages: Babies & Toddlers, Preschoolers, and Elementary kids.

Step 3

:
As you finish each level come back to the library and get great prizes! The last day to finish reading and pick up prizes is Saturday, July 29.
Summer slide? Not if we can help it! Just like any other skill that you want to master, the only way to get better at reading is to practice. According to experts, kids who read during the summer gain reading competence, while those who do not often slide backward. Instead of losing knowledge and ability during the summer months, kids who participate in reading programs actually show gains.
