What to Watch For

  • On-Call Tech Help for remote learning - Struggling to help your student with online learning? Need help accessing online resources? Broomfield Librarians are available by phone or in-person whenever the library is open to provide tech support for parents and students. 
    • Kindergarten-5th grade: Contact the Children’s Library by calling 720.887.2315.
    • Grades 6th-12th: Contact the Reference Desk by calling 720.887.2360.
  • Hey Broomfield Teachers and Parents! - Check out these School Engagement Resources for parents (in Spanish) and teachers (in Spanish). Common Sense Media's Wide Open School has distance learning resources for preschool through 12th grade.

Programs are added as they become available. Please check the Children’s Library website and B-REx.com for updates. Masks are required for ages 4 and up for all library programs (outdoors and indoors). Outdoor programs are offered weather permitting. Programs may be canceled if they do not meet minimum attendance.

Story Times

  • Baby Outdoor Story Time - Thursdays through November. Ages 0-2 with an adult. Join the Children's Library outside for some fun with stories and rhymes for babies. This program meets on the lawn to the west of the library building. Masks are required for ages 4 and up; families will sit or stand in physically distanced spaces for the program. Weather permitting. Registration required. Please register just one child in your family and then answer the question about how many people will attend together. 
  • Outdoor Story Time - Wednesdays through November, 10-10:30 a.m. Ages 2-5 with an adult. Join the Children's Library outside for some fun with stories and movement. This program meets outside the library at the amphitheater next to the pond. Masks are required for ages 4 and up; families will sit or stand in physically distanced spaces for the program. Weather permitting. Registration required. Please register just one child in your family and then answer the question about how many people will attend together. 
  • Online Story Times - Enjoy on your own schedule. New story times are posted on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 9:45 a.m. (Fridays are Cuentacuentos in Spanish.) Visit the city activities page for new Story Times or join a watch party at 9:45 a.m. on Facebook. View saved story time videos at any time.
  • Cuentacuentos en español - En línea a Broomfield Library Facebook. Un vídeo nuevo cada viernes. 

Special Programs

  • One Book Colorado - October 13-25. Age 4. Every 4-year-old in Colorado can receive a FREE book! This year's book selection will be announced October 13. If you have a child who was, is, or will be 4 years old in 2020, bring them to the Children's Library between October 13-25 to pick up the book in English or Spanish. One Book Colorado aims to get a book into the homes of every 4-year-old in Colorado, promoting early literacy and helping families serve as their children's first and most important teachers.   • Halloween Pumpkin Decorating - Saturday, October 24. Ages 4 and up. Registration required (30-minute time slot). Get ready for Halloween! Join the Broomfield Library for a spooky silly pumpkin-painting and decorating party! This in-person event will take place outside of the Broomfield Library at Community Park near the Auditorium. Pumpkins, paint, and design ideas will be provided. Please arrive 5 minutes early. Groups will be seated by household in physically distanced stations. All families members MUST be registered to participate.
  • Library Nature Walk and Collage Art - Monday, November 2, 10-10:45 a.m. Ages 2-5. Join the Broomfield Children's Library for a short walk around the Broomfield Library pond. Observe nature, collect samples of leaves, twigs and more, listen to a story and end by making a nature collage. Registration required. Register one child in your family and then answer the question about how many people will attend together. Masks are required for ages 4 and up; families will be physically distanced for the program. Weather permitting. Please note: Programs that do not meet minimum registration may be canceled.

Ongoing Programs 

  • Take-and-Make Kits - Help your kids build creative problem solving skills through crafts, early literacy, and STEAM learning with Take-and-Make Kits, available at the Children’s Library desk. Pick up a kit for your toddler, preschooler or elementary age child to take home and make together! Individual kits are available while supplies last with new kits being added all the time.
  • Storyline - Call our storyline at 720.887.2317 to hear a recorded story. New stories each week!
  • Baby Welcome Bags - Are you a Colorado resident who has welcomed a new baby into the family? Congratulations! The Library wants to help give your little one the best start in life. Stop by the Children's Library Desk and ask about our Baby Welcome Bags for babies up to 12 months old that contain some special gifts for your little one and great resources for caregivers. Supplies are limited. Funded by the Broomfield Library Friends Foundation.
  • Online Resources - This is a great time to take advantage of our digital resources! Click on the icons below for books, movies, animated stories and more available through the library website! Some items may require your library card to sign in.
