Emerald Park Ballfield & Park Improvements

Background Information

Planned improvements at Emerald Park include installing a new irrigation system, adding approximately 80,000 square feet of new sod, relocating the baseball infield to be outside the floodway, adding dugouts and a backstop, replacing horseshoe pit fencing, replacing old circuit exercise equipment, and installing drainage improvements.

BHA Design, Inc. and Loewen Engineering, Inc. completed the floodplain analysis and the project design documents. City staff have been working in collaboration with Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) on this project, as about half of the improvement area is located on BVSD property. Broomfield and BVSD have executed a temporary construction easement on BVSD property.  

An invitation to bid for construction was posted to BidNet on September 9, 2019, and two contractors submitted bids by the closing on September 25, 2019. The lowest responsive bidder was Richdell Construction, Inc. at $509,500 which is within the available project budget.
