- US 36 Bikeway Realignment
A trail detour will be placed on Wednesday, January 6 to facilitate construction of the new realigned bikeway. The detour will be in place for approximately 3 weeks (weather dependent). Please follow the directional signage provided. If you have any questions or if any issues are encountered, please contact Ed Thompson at ethompson@broomfield.org or 303-901-0676.
Construction has started and is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2021. The Contractor will construct the trail from the north to the south. The connections at the north and south will be completed last. The existing trail will be open for the majority of construction. Short trail closures will likely be required to complete the tie in work.
The project will realign the US 36 Bikeway from West Flatiron Crossing Drive to Interlocken Loop. The new trail will be 12’-wide and generally follow along the west side of US 36. CDOT has contributed $150,000 to the project which covered the design costs. A construction agreement with Concrete Express, Inc. was approved by Council.
