Ward 2 Council Vacancy
Broomfield City Council is accepting applications to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Ward 2 City Councilmember William Lindstedt upon his election as State Representative District 33 on Nov. 8, 2022.
Deadline to submit an application is Friday, January 6, 2023 at 5 p.m.
Under the Broomfield charter, the City Council has 30 days to appoint someone to fill the remainder of the vacant term which expires Feb. 8, 2023. Council requests that interested parties fill out an application and provide a brief introductory “Sparkhire” video, the link to which will be provided upon receipt of the application. The application form is also available from the City and County Clerk's Office.
To be eligible, applicants must be registered electors and live in Ward 2.

The appointment of a new Councilmember for Ward 2 will be made at the Jan. 24, 2023 City Council meeting. The newly appointed Councilmember will be sworn in at the Feb. 7, 2023 City Council meeting.
Applicants should plan on attending the Jan. 24, 2023 City Council meeting as City Council will select an applicant to fill the vacancy at that time. The selected candidate will be sworn in at the start of the public meeting on Feb. 7, 2023. Onboarding for the appointee will be coordinated for a four-hour time session with staff for the week of Jan. 30 - Feb. 3, 2023.
