Kenny was elected to represent Ward 1 in 2023. Kenny was born and raised in Colorado to Vietnamese refugees and is proud to now serve as Broomfield's first Asian American elected official. He has lived in Broomfield since 2018 and decided to put down deep roots by purchasing a home here with his sister in 2022.
Kenny was first in his family to complete an undergraduate degree, graduating in 2016 with a Bachelor's in Political Science and Communications from the University of Colorado Boulder. He is currently pursuing his Master of Public Administration at the University of Colorado Denver.
Kenny currently serves as the Executive Assistant to Colorado's Lieutenant Governor, Dianne Primavera.
Kenny is an active member and former chair of Broomfield's Arts, History and Cultural Council (AHCC). He is an AmeriCorps Service Member alum, having served four terms with the "I Have a Dream" foundation of Boulder County. Kenny is the former vice-chair of the Asian American Pacific Islander Initiative of Colorado Democrats. Additionally, he was a Field Organizer for the Jared Polis/Dianne Primavera 2018 campaign.
Hobbies & Interests
In his free time, Kenny enjoys rooting for Colorado sports teams, reading, playing volleyball, and gaming. He is also an active participant in Colorado's anime and cosplay community.
