Water Aerobics Classes

All Instructors are certified/professionally trained in Aqua Fitness and certified in CPR. Anyone ages 16 and older may participate in Aqua Fitness, and 12 - 15 years may participate with an adult, 18 years or older.

Water Aerobics Classes at the Bay!

Come and join us for a full week of water aerobic madness at the Bay! Class will be held at the Bay on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. You may use your punch cards from PDRC and BCC, or Recreation or Bay Season Pass. You may also pay the drop-in fee if you pay over at BCC and then bring your receipt over to the Bay the morning of class. We accept Silver Sneakers PRIME memberships at the Bay as well!

Aquacise Fitness Schedule

All fitness classes are subject to change. Minimum paid attendance is required to continue offering classes. All classes are subject to cancellation due to low enrollment. When the scheduled instructor is unable to teach, we will make every attempt to find a Substitute instructor. Schedules are located at the Broomfield Community Center or the Paul Derda Recreation Center.

Aqua Fitness classes will not be held on the following dates:

Broomfield Community Center: April 16, May 29, July 4, August 26 - September 4
Paul Derda Recreation Center: April 16; August 14 - 27; Special Hours on May 29; July 4; September 4 

H2O Cardio Kick It! (Most difficult)

This is a more difficult class designed to increase your cardiovascular endurance, toning and flexibility. We work on getting your heart rate up, your attitude up, and have fun at the same time! 

Hydro Dynamics (Medium - Hard)

You get the same fitness benefits as land aerobics, including excellent cardiovascular conditioning, muscle toning, flexibility and fat burning. The water environment provides great resistance and a low-impact workout. Aqua aerobics is for everyone; swimmers and non-swimmers, men and women. Join us for a change of pace, for cross-training or for general fitness.

Cross Training/Deep Water Aerobics (Medium - Hard)

This comprehensive workout is designed to improve cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, strength, muscle tone, increase fat burning, and combat stress. Special equipment is not necessary. Flotation devices (hand buoys and noodles) provide stability and flotation in the deep water; however, you should feel comfortable in deep water.

Water Running Loco Motion (Easy - Medium)

This co-ed water exercise class offers low - impact walking exercises to improve your strength, flexibility and aerobic fitness. The current channel is used to increase resistance of the exercises. Swim skills are not required. Water shoes are recommended.

Baby & Me Water Aerobics (Easy - Hard)

This class is designed for parents who want to get in shape and spend some quality time with their babies! This action-packed water class consists of aerobic conditioning and muscular strengthening while moving in the water with your baby. Babies are utilized as weights and extra resistance in the water. Designed for all moms, dads, and babies ages 6 - 24 months!

Pre - Natal Aqua Aerobics (Easy - Medium)

This class is designed for pre or postnatal women who want a safe and effective way to stay in shape. Enjoy a fun, relaxing, low-impact workout in the water! The class includes cardiovascular conditioning, flexibility, strengthening and spine stabilization.

Fluid Motion (Easy - Medium)

This coed adult water exercise class offers a low-impact method for getting into shape. Exercises will develop muscle tone, flexibility and increase energy. The aerobic portion is designed to improve cardiovascular conditioning. Swim skills are not required. Water shoes are recommended. Instructor is A.E.A. certified and an accessible lift is available.

Arthritis Foundation Program (Easy)

Taught by trained personnel , this program provides exercises with gentle movements in a warm (85° F) water pool. It’s an opportunity to meet others who seek control over their arthritis. Any adult with any form of arthritis, recovering from surgery, or with chronic pain disorders such as Fibromyalgia Syndrome is welcome. It is not necessary to know how to swim. A participant release form is required prior to the first class session. A swim lift is available. For more information please contact Stephanie at 303.464.5540.

Flippity Fun & Fitness for Youth

This class is an extension from our land fun-n-fitness class but all the activities are in the water! This class will focus on fitness and fun in the water through a variety of activities and games designed for youth in a non-competitive environment. Bring your friends for fun together in the pool! Pre-requisites: Must be able to swim independently. This class is free to Pass Holders. We do require that you sign up for the class to reserve a spot. Please note that this class fills up! If your child cannot attend class, we ask that you give up the spot so that someone else may!

Drop-In Kayak

Come practice your skills in the swimming pool! Practice paddling and rolling your kayak in a safe environment. This is a drop-in program; pre-registration is not necessary. If you are bringing a large group, please call the BCC front desk in advance to let us know you are coming.
