The North Metro Fire and Rescue District (NMFRD) investigated some black smoke the afternoon of Friday, April 26, 2019. Engine 66 was responding to a potential car accident and noticed some black smoke in an area between 160th and Highway 7 on the east side of Huron Street. When they arrived at the location there was pipeline work being conducted but did not observe any fire. NMFRD spoke with the Extraction pipeline workers who indicated that they had been pulling a gas line that contained some residual product that caught fire. The workers were able to put the fire out immediately.
